Refund Benefits - At A Glance
The Retirement Board of the Cook County Pension Fund (the Fund) administers the various Refund Benefits provided for in Article 9 of the Illinois Pension Code.
Full Refunds are available to members that separate from employment before age 55 or with less than 10 years of service. These members are eligible for a refund of all contributions.
Refund To Estate
Refund To Estate Benefits are available to the beneficiaries of members that have contributions remaining after all annuity benefits have been paid or pass away without ever receiving annuity benefits. The Refund to Estate often includes a $1,000 death benefit.
Partial Refunds are generally paid to members that retire and apply for annuity benefits. Retiring members can be eligible for the refund of spousal contributions or other refund payments.
