2015 Election - Candidate Statements Are Now Available

Notice of Election

Notice is hereby given that the 2015 Election for a Forest Preserve Employee Member Trustee, and a Cook County Annuitant Member Trustee will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.

Cook County Employee Trustee Position (UPDATE) – by rule, Diahann Goode will be the winner and will serve another three-year term as no other candidates applied for the position. Please note, this means the Cook County Employee election has been cancelled.

Forest Preserve Employee Trustee Position & Cook County Annuitant Trustee position (OPEN POSITIONS) – elections for both positions will be held on October 28, 2015 at the Cook County Building Room 885. Only Forest Preserve employees and Cook County annuitants are eligible to vote in this year’s election.

Trustee Election Voting Options - You may vote EITHER by mail OR in person

In-person voting will take place from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, in Room 885 of the Cook County Building at 118 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60602. 

Mail ballots will also be accepted.  Each eligible voter will be mailed an application for a mail ballot on or before September 30, 2015.  Contact the Fund at (312) 603-1200 no later than October 5, 2015, if you do not receive an application for a mail ballot.

Please note that an election is only held if there are two or more candidates running for a trustee position.

Information for Candidates

Nominating petitions can be obtained at the Fund’s main office, which is located at 33 N Dearborn St, Suite 1000, Chicago, IL 60602, beginning on Thursday, August 20, 2015.  Nominating petitions must be filed at the Fund's main office between 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 and 4:30 PM on September 4, 2015. 

All Trustees must adhere to the fiduciary and governance standards prescribed by the Fund and in accordance with the statutory requirements of the Illinois Pension Code.  The fiduciary duties, responsibilities, and expectations of Trustees are outlined in our "Considering Candidacy" guide below:

Notice of Candidate Statement
