County Administration's Pension Reform Proposal Reintroduced as SB843

On May 15, 2015, the Cook County administration reintroduced the pension legislation (formally HB1154) that was previously introduced in the 2014 legislative session (98th General Assembly).

As of May 20, 2015, the Illinois House Personnel & Pensions committee passed SB843 (House Amendment 1), 5 to 4, which maybe called for a vote in the House.  As of this time, there have been no changes to the Cook County Pension Fund's benefits.

The new proposal would provide for increased County and employee contributions to fully fund pension and health benefits, securing benefits for current and future retirees.
