On May 8, 2015 the Illinois Supreme Court unanimously ruled unconstitutional the pension reform law from 2013, Public Act 98-599. The law did not apply to current Cook County Pension Fund members - active or inactive - or to Cook County Pension Fund retirees, only to members of the state-funded systems. The Act reduced retirement benefits for some state retirement systems.
